Best email verification tools (2026).
An honest, tested comparison of 10 tools: real free tiers, price per 1,000, accuracy, credit expiry and how each one handles catch-all domains. We put MailCull on the same terms as everyone else, and we let other tools win where they genuinely do.

Ten tools, on equal footing.
One row per tool, the same columns for all. Numbers are read off public pricing pages; accuracy is shown as claimed, with independent ranges where they exist. MailCull does not win every column, and that is the point.

We run MailCull, and we include it on the same terms as everyone else, in the table above. Competitor figures are taken from their public pricing pages (verified June 2026); accuracy figures cite independent benchmarks where available. A few vendor pages render prices dynamically, so verify current pricing before you buy.
To verify 10,000 emails.
At a normal 10,000-address list, MailCull Pro is the cheapest of the budget tier and about a quarter of the big-name suites. The never-expire tools only pull ahead at far lower or far higher volumes.
Why a binary “valid / invalid” quietly lies.
A catch-all domain accepts mail for every address, real or not. A security gateway like Microsoft 365 or Proofpoint can hide whether a mailbox exists at all. There is no honest way to call those “valid”.
Collapse everything into valid or invalid, and quietly count catch-alls and gateways as valid. You only find out they bounce after you have already sent.
Marks them risky or unknown and tells you why. An unknown still counts as a completed check; we label the reason so you can rerun it later.
Three honest wins. And one thing we don’t.
The table above puts every tool on equal footing. Here is where MailCull actually leads, with no inflated cells, plus the case where another tool is the better buy.
The most generous free tier
500 checks every month, and they reset. Almost every rival gives you 100 or fewer, one time only, then asks for a card.
The only native MCP server
None of the other nine offer one. If you are wiring verification into Claude, Cursor or an agent, it is the clean pick.
Receipts on every verdict
Each result carries its evidence: the real SMTP reply, the MX record and a plain-English reason. Most tools hand back a yes/no black box you cannot question.
Where MailCull does not win: our credits reset monthly, so for occasional low-volume use or a one-time mega-bulk clean of hundreds of thousands of addresses, the never-expire pay-as-you-go tools like MillionVerifier and DeBounce work out cheaper. We also have a smaller integration ecosystem and no data-enrichment add-ons.
Compared everything? Start with the free tier.
500 checks a month, recurring, no credit card. Enough to clean a small list end to end and see the evidence behind every verdict for yourself.
